Artichoke Music & Cafe , 2007 SE Powell is The Heart of the Portland Folk Music Scene. One of the best rooms in which to perform anywhere in Portland. I've played there many times and the audiences are always there for the music. The attached store houses a music school with talented teachers for just about any stringed instrument, a large selection of acoustic guitars, mandolins, ukuleles, banjos, fiddles, dulcimers, recorders, and harmonicas. Full disclosure, I am the House Production Manager. Still, many volunteers keep it running. It's a non-profit and accepts donations.
