Bonnie Raitt I have seen Bonnie perform numerous times. And every time, I'm blown away by her talent and dedication. The array of tone and feelings she coaxes out of the slide guitar are just amazing. I saw her at Portland Meadows with Lyle Lovett when one of the band busses caught fire and burned to the ground. Lyle was on stage at the time and they wisked his Large Band off as the flames erupted in the background. After the fire department put it out, they came right back on stage and picked up where they had stopped. They barely batted an eye. Then Bonnie came out and was funny, cool and just ripped it up for a couple of hours.
Her commitment to No Nukes , The Boys and Girls Clubs and to the older Blues players through the Rhythm & Blues Foundation , among others, are an inspiration.
